Align & Relax Restorative Yoga

Restorative yoga is a therapeutic style of yoga that promotes healing of the body and deep relaxation through supportive poses. Using gravity and props to naturally open the body to find full relaxation. The more the body is supported the deeper the relaxation can be experienced. In a restorative practice, there is no movement, no effort and the mind can be silent. 

Restorative yoga helps to engage the parasympathetic nervous system allowing for improved digestion and the reduction of muscle tension, chronic stress, fatigue, blood pressure, and blood sugar levels. 

In restorative yoga we use props including blankets, straps, pillows, bolsters and blocks which enable well-supported postures. When fully supported with the props, the body is able to enter into a state of deep and total relaxation. Typically restorative poses are held for longer periods of time.
